Apparently it tasted like a Daim bar. Still not sure if that was a compliment…..
Chocolate Oat Crunch Squares
Ingredients
- 300g Porridge Oats
- 160g Light Brown Sugar
- 160g Butter
- 130g Golden Syrup
- 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup
- 100g Milk Chocolate
- 100g White Chocolate
Directions
Step 1.
|
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. In a bowl over simmering water add the sugar and butter and stir until it is all mixed and the texture is no longer grainy. |
Step 2.
|
Add the Golden Syrup and Maple Syrup into the mix and stir until completely incorporated. |
Step 3.
|
Take the bowl off the heat and let it rest for 3 minutes before adding in the porridge oats. Once they are added in, stir them softly and make sure they are totally coated in the syrup mixture. |
Step 4.
|
Cover a large baking tray with Baking Paper and spread the oats out onto it. Spread it so it is 1 inch tall and make it as even as possible. |
Step 5.
|
Place the tray in the middle of the oven for 20 minutes. When you take it out the edges should look like darker than the center. |
Step 6.
|
Place the oats in the fridge for 20 minutes and then melt the milk chocolate and spread in one layer on top of the oats. Place it in the fridge again for 20 minutes and then melt the white chocolate and spread that on top too. |
